Hi, I’m Joclyn.


Hey! I'm Joclyn Haven, the girl behind the camera! I grew up on a farm near Brentford, SD (surprising if you know me, ha). I currently attend South Dakota State University, majoring in advertising with a minor in marketing, digital/social media, and entrepreneurial studies.



There was always something going on around the farm and I was DEFINITELY not interested in farm work, so I decided to pick up the camera and capture the story of what was going on instead. I have always loved capturing images that make people happy to look at for the rest of their lives. Throughout high school, I was our school photographer, giving me many opportunities to showcase my photos and improve my photo techniques.


Since then, I've been taking lifestyle, high school seniors, sports, weddings, various event photos, and photographing for the sports teams here at South Dakota State. No matter how far, I am always down to travel (I absolutely love the escapism of travel) because I want to create the perfect images just for you. I place an equal focus on the overall experience my clients have and create that perfect photo to cherish forever.

Where are you based?

I'm located in Brookings, South Dakota, the southeastern part of the state. If you are not from around here do not worry one bit, I am always down to travel to capture you!

Do I have to order prints through you?

No, but I would rather have you order through me to assure you are getting exactly what you want and need. (Plus it's less work for you). Unlike a lot of other photographers who don't give print release, I am one of them that does.

What if it rains or the weather is bad?

If it rains or the weather forecast is looking bad for your session, we will keep in contact about 24 hours before your scheduled session to see if we need to reschedule.

Do you shoot destination photography?

Yes! Being able to travel while doing something I love is one of the most amazing things! I love the escapism of travel, so going somewhere new and experiencing it to create beautiful images in a new place excites me.

What kind of camera/gear do you use?

I shoot with a professional DSLR camera and use equipment that I am skilled and experienced with.

Do you have a studio?

I do not currently have studio, however, I do have access to one in the Sioux Falls area! There is an added fee of $45 for those wanting a studio photoshoot. I hope to open my own natural light studio in the future!
